The mural commemorating Krystyna Bochenek is located on the side wall of a tenement house at 48 Wojewódzka Street, at the intersection with Francuska Street in the center of Katowice. The large-format portrait was unveiled on April 10, 2021, on the 11th anniversary of the Smolensk disaster, in which the distinguished Katowice resident perished.

The composition is based on a photograph by Bartek Barczyk and depicts Krystyna Bochenek sitting on a chair. This motif refers to the charity initiative "Chairs for Learning" she initiated, during which furniture refurbished by well-known artists was auctioned, and the proceeds were allocated to support talented students in difficult financial situations.

Krystyna Bochenek was a journalist for many years associated with Polish Radio Katowice, as well as the Deputy Marshal of the Senate of the Republic of Poland. Residents also remember her as the initiator of the National Dictation and the Name Day Gatherings of Krystyn. The mural serves as a reminder of her public, social, and cultural activities, as well as her strong connection to Katowice.

The implementation was created as part of the nationwide project "Women on Walls," which aims to commemorate outstanding and influential Polish women in public spaces.
