Information about the procedure described in Article 18 of the Digital Accessibility Act

Everyone has the right to submit a request for ensuring the digital accessibility of a website, mobile application, or any of their elements. You can also request the provision of information through an alternative means of access, such as reading a digitally inaccessible document, describing the content of a film without audio description, etc. The request should include the details of the person making the request, specify which website or mobile application is being referred to, and provide a method of contact. If the requester indicates the need to receive information through an alternative means of access, they should also specify a convenient method for presenting this information. The public authority should fulfil the request without delay, no later than within 7 days from the date of the request. If it is not possible to meet this deadline, the public entity shall promptly inform the requester when the request can be fulfilled, and this period shall not exceed 2 months from the date of the request. If ensuring digital accessibility is not possible, the public entity may propose an alternative way to access the information. In the event that a public entity refuses to fulfil a request for accessibility or an alternative means of accessing information, the requester may file a complaint regarding the provision of digital accessibility of a website, mobile application, or element of a website or mobile application. After exhausting the aforementioned procedure, a complaint can also be submitted to the Ombudsman. The website of the Ombudsman is available at: https://www.rpo.gov.pl/.

Additional information

The website https://murale.katowice.eu/ is also accessible using the Intelligent Web Reader talking web browser and other readers. The talking browser allows blind and visually impaired people to use the website. Intelligent and other Web Reader readers read web pages using a built-in synthetic voice. It also has the ability to enlarge the font of the displayed text. Presentation mechanisms divide the page into logical segments, providing an idea of the page's graphical layout. Navigating an audio-enabled page using a browser is typically done through keyboard shortcuts, and the graphical division of the page is described using numbered "points." A point corresponds to a logical section of the page.
