Le Ronda 85
Raspazjan
2018
This vivid and symbolic mural by Raspazjan is a tribute to the film Angelus directed by Lech Majewski – a cult work inspired by the history and mysticism of the Janowska Group. On the wall of the tenement house in Dąbrówka Mała, we will see Saturn – a mysterious and monumental figure, who, according to the artist, is ready to unleash a ray that could "destroy the entire world."
This is not only a reference to the surrealist narrative of the film but also an announcement of a joint exhibition of paintings by Raspazjan and Erwin Sówka, the last living representative of the legendary Janowska Group – an artist whose spirit permeates both the visual language of the mural and its metaphysical dimension.
The work was created in 2018 and still attracts attention today with its grandeur, colour, and mystery.
