2021
Zielona Głowa is an eco-friendly mural that was created at the initiative of the Silesian Climate Movement. The author of the design and execution on the 144 m2 wall is Małgorzata Rozenau – a painter, graphic designer, and lecturer at the Katowice Academy of Fine Arts. Support in the process of creating the mural was provided by the law firm Ślązak, Zapiór and Partners.
A head full of greenery is not just a metaphor, a symbol of ecological thinking and a responsible attitude towards current issues related to climate change. It reminds us that we express our humanity through respect for nature and the planet. The consequences of human actions in the Anthropocene epoch necessitate a profound change in thinking and action, focusing attention on nature conservation and effective cooperation. More than ever, our minds should remember that we are not separate, but interdependent. The awareness of this connection is an important message of the mural.
The Green Head, open to nature, its wildness and diversity, reminds us of our true nature. The plant motifs of the mural harmonise with the mighty linden and chestnut trees growing nearby.
