Wojciech Korfanty Mural: A New Look.

The first mural featuring Wojciech Korfanty was created in 2018 on the wall of a tenement house at Reja Street 6. Its unveiling took place on October 25th, marking the 100th anniversary of a pivotal speech Korfanty delivered as a Reichstag Member of Parliament, in which he advocated for Upper Silesia's reintegration with Poland. The mural depicted Wojciech Korfanty based on an archival black-and-white photograph. The previous rendition of the Silesian politician was defaced with white paint on the night of December 20-21, 2024. The new mural was completed in September 2025. Both the original and the new mural were created by artist Wojtek Walczyk.
