Mona Tusz
2017
Right next to the Theatre Without a Stage, in the courtyard of the tenement at 3 Maja 11, an extraordinary space for artistic dialogue has emerged. There are three murals by Mona Tusz here, created in different years and inspired by literature, social activism, and art history. Hidden behind the gate, the artworks create an intimate gallery of street art and encourage the exploration of less obvious spaces in Katowice.
One mother, different dreams
The mural "One Mother, Different Dreams" was created in 2017 for the FAMI.LOCK Association Active Seniors 60+, which operates at the Theatre Without a Stage in Katowice.
The project had a social dimension – it encouraged residents, especially seniors, to rediscover the city, cross closed gates, and seek art in unconventional places. The fairy-tale composition was enriched with glass elements characteristic of Mona Tusz's work, which reflect light and create a colourful mosaic effect.
The mural was supplemented with new elements in 2025. Photographs of the first version of the work come from the artist's website:
